The division's activity is focused on water and Reverse Osmosis desalination, using and delivering the world's very best technology. ACCIONA Agua has an order book worth 3.6 billion euros.

ACCIONA Agua has 400 potable water and purification plants, and 70 desalination plants. All told, it treats, purifies, reuses, desalinates and manages water for 50 million people.

In 2008, ACCIONA Agua, through its branches in Portugal, Italy, the USA, Dubai, Australia, the UK, Algeria, Venezuela and Chile, contributed to job creation in all of these countries; improved the water services industry by contributing new technology and shone in the Spanish market as a prime example of how to develop internationally.

It also consolidated its position as world leader of its sector thanks to its firm bet on R&D which has resulted in 14 patents. The company is the world's principal benchmark in Reverse Osmosis seawater desalination.
