• ACCIONA Infrastructure commences construction work on Caja Madrid's Obelisk. The project is the brainchild of architect Santiago Calatrava, and will be unveiled late in 2009.

• ACCIONA builds five solar "gardens" with a total capacity of 30 MWp for 222 million euros. They are located in Navarre, Castile-La Mancha and Estremadura and are owned by more than 1,400 people. The company ended the year with 115 MWp of photovoltaic capacity, 177% more than the previous year.

• ACCIONA Trasmediterranea remodels its terminal in Barcelona. The project cost 50 million euros.

• ACCIONA sells off its funeral services subsidiary Mémora to UK venture capital company 3i Group.

• The LNG storage caisson built by ACCIONA Infrastructures leaves Algeciras Bay for the Adriatic Sea.
