• Spain's first Masters degree in Nanotechnology is launched by ACCIONA and Aliter Business School. The agreement includes the joint organisation of the first such specialised programme in a branch of technology which will be the foundation of future R&D and innovation in medicine, energy and environmental technologies.

• ACCIONA opens its first wind turbine generator (WTG) manufacturing plant in West Branch (Iowa, USA); investment totalled 15.4 million euros. The plant will produce 200 units in 2008 and 400 units per year thereafter.

• ACCIONA Agua inaugurates the largest desalination plant in the US. The plant will cover at least 10% of the drinking water needs of the Tampa Bay region (Florida) and will be run by ACCIONA Agua and its partner, American Water, for 18 years.

• ACCIONA is awarded a wind farm concession in Canada which represents an investment of 69 million euros. The 49.5 MW farm will consist of 33 ACCIONA Windpower-designed WTGs. This is ACCIONA’s fourth wind farm in Canada, raising its capacity there to 186 MW.

• ACCIONA acquires the 6.87% stake in Eólica Cesa it did not own to obtain 100% control; the total cost was 77 million euros.
